Including soy protein powder in your diet can offer many health benefits. Soy is high in fiber, protein, amino acids and protective photochemicals that help prevent many diseases. Eating soy helps reduce the risk of some cancers, heart disease, osteoporosis and menopausal symptoms. According to the FDA, 25g of soy protein per day can reduce your chance of heart disease. Derived from soy flour, soy protein powder is an excellent way to add healthy soy to your daily meal plans.

Purchasing Soy Protein Powder

You can obtain soy protein powder at most health food stores. Soy protein powder comes flavored or unflavored. Unflavored soybean protein powder is preferred in most recipes, since it doesn't change the flavor of the foods.
Buy soy protein powder that is organically grown, and states on the package that it's "Non-GMO," meaning the soybeans haven't been genetically-modified or engineered.
