How to Troubleshoot a 2005 E-Z-Go Golf Cart
The EZ-GO golf cart is used by country clubs and golf courses to offer their members a fun and practical way to get around the course. Many people, meanwhile, use EZ-GO golf carts to get around their property or communities. If you are having problems with your EZ-GO golf cart, there are a few things you can do to get it back up and running. EZ-GO golf carts are offered with electric or gas power.

Electric Cart

Go to the battery terminal connections. These are located under the bench seat on the golf cart. Make sure there is no corrosion on the battery. Buy a battery terminal cleaner to clean the terminals.

Disconnect the battery from the golf cart and use a tester to make sure it is holding a charge. Connect the tester's lead wires to the battery. EZ-GO batteries are 12 volts. If the tester is reading anything less, replace the battery.

Reset your motor by removing the rear panel of the golf cart. Push the small red button next to the motor to reset it.

Go to the ignition switch on the golf cart's front panel. Make sure that your golf cart is not in the neutral position. Turn the key to the "on" position to start it.
Gas Cart

Insert the key into the golf cart's ignition. Read the gas meter to determine if the cart is out of gas. Add gas if needed.

Open the hood of the golf car and remove the retaining screws from the air filter by using a screwdriver. The air filter will be a cylindrical object with a paper-like material on the inside. This will give you access to the carburetor. Clean the carburetor with a cleaner.
