How to Clean a Casio Keyboard

How to Clean a Casio Keyboard thumbnail
Cleaning the keys on your Casio keyboard is a monthly maintenance procedure.

Proper maintenance of a Casio Keyboard includes cleaning it once a month. Oils from your fingers accumulate on the keyboard and attract dust. You can lengthen the time between cleanings if you cover the keyboard with cloth when not in use. Never use any harsh chemicals on your keyboard as they can damage the equipment. Though you can purchase cleaners made specifically for keyboards, you can save some money by making your own cleaning solution.

Instructions

    • 1

Put some warm water in a small bowl. Add a couple drops of mild dishwashing detergent. Mix well.

    • 2

Dampen one of your cloths slightly with the mixture. Wipe the cloth gently over each key, remembering to wipe the sides of the keys. It is important you only use white cloths because the dyes and chemicals in colored cloths can cause damage to the keyboard.

    • 3

Use the dry cloth to remove any moisture left behind on the keyboard. Do not rush this step; if water remains on the keyboard it can cause damage.

    • 4

Use a cotton swab to reach into any tight corners. Dampen it with the mixture, wipe into the corners and then use a dry cotton swab to pick up any remaining moisture.
