How to Stitch Photos for a Virtual Tour
One interesting and relatively easy thing you can do with digital pictures is "stitch" them together. Whether you are creating a panoramic landscape picture of a beach or other vista, photo stitching allows you to electronically attach pictures to each other. Another application for this technology is to stitch pictures together and use them as a virtual tour. Real estate agents can use this to promote properties they are trying sell. Any time you have a room, property or other building you want to display online, using a virtual tour is a good way to showcase it.

1
Map out how you will photograph the room. You need to have a systematic approach to photographing the entire room you will be displaying on the virtual tour. Pick a corner to start from and work through room. With each new picture, overlap slightly from picture to picture. This will make the stitching process easier.
-
2
Download the pictures to your home computer once you have finished photographing the room.

-
3
Download a photo-stitch program. There are number of these programs available on the Internet. Three of them are "POS Panorama Pro," "AutoStitch" and "PTgui," and these programs are either free or have a free trial period. Open the program on your computer.
-
4
Click "File" in the navigation bar of the program, then "Get photos" from the drop-down menu. The wording may vary from program to program, but the steps will be the same.
-
5
Open all of the photos in the order you photographed them. These programs are automatic and work in succession, moving from image to image.
-
6
Click "Stitch" or "Start" to begin the process. The program will stitch the images together giving you a single image that can be used in a virtual tour of your building or property.
