How to Wash Sheets Made of Silk & Egyptian Cotton
Linens like silk and Egyptian cotton are a luxury to own. Egyptian cotton is made out of long cotton fibers and is extremely soft. This type of cotton gets softer and softer after each washing and will last a long time with proper care. Silk sheets are an expensive luxury but they can last a long time if treated well. Load sheets into the washing machine and fill with cold water. Don't put them with any other materials so they won't pick up any bleeding colors or other debris.

Add a mild detergent to the washing machine. Use the least amount of detergent recommended.

Wash the clothes on a gentle or delicate cycle. Some machines have a setting for an extra spin cycle. Don't use this.

Hang the sheets to dry. This is gentler on the fabric and will prevent them from overdrying. If you use the dryer put the heat on a low setting and take them out as soon as they are dry.
Egyptian Sheets

Put the sheets in the machine and fill it with cold water. Wash the sheets alone to prevent damage from other fabrics.

Add a mild detergent to the machine and wash on a gentle cycle.

Remove sheets immediately from the machine and load them in the dryer. Dry on a gentle cycle until they are almost dry and hang them to finish drying.
