In 2001 Microsoft released the Xbox gaming console, and it was well-received by gamers and critics. The console offered both powerful gaming for its time and additional home entertainment options, like playing and ripping audio CDs. Installing games on the Xbox is very easy and requires little time compared to newer consoles like the PS3 and Xbox 360; almost the entire process is automatic. To play a video game after installation, though, you still must use the game disc.
Turn on your Xbox, if necessary. The power button is on the front of the Xbox near the center.
Press the eject button on your Xbox console to open the disc drive. The eject button is just above the power button.
Put the game disc in the tray with the data side down. The disc's name and title should be face up.
Press the eject button again to close the disc drive.
Wait for the game to start automatically. The Xbox installs games without requiring any further input from you. The save files and other necessary data are located under the "Memory" option in the Xbox dashboard.
Tips
If wished, you can delete the installed files in the "Memory" menu. This helps save disk space on your Xbox.
You can also copy installed files onto an Xbox Memory Unit to save disk space so you do not permanently lose the data.
