Rangemaster Hood Cleaning Instructions

A Rangemaster range hood is installed over an electrical or gas-fired cooking surface. The hood has a built-in fan that ventilates smoke and cooking odors outside and away from the cooking area. It contains two grease filters and two charcoal filters, located above the grease filters. Clean the grease filters approximately once per month. Charcoal filters cannot be cleaned and you should replace them after four months of use.

Clean a Rangemaster hood with a dish washing solution.

Step 1

Turn off the Rangemaster hood with the appropriate circuit breaker.

Step 2

Make a dish washing solution in a sink. Any standard dish soap will do.

Step 3

Remove the grease filters from the underside of the hood. Pull them out one at a time, and place them in the sink with the dish washing solution. Allow them to soak. Alternately, the grease filters can be loaded into any electric dishwasher and run through a normal wash cycle.

Step 4

Wipe down the outside of the hood with a sponge or a cloth, using the same dish washing solution in which the grease filters are soaking. Rinse.

Step 5

Wash the grease filters in the sink with a sponge or a cloth. Rinse thoroughly and allow them to dry before reinstallation.
