How to Make a Homemade Evil Leprechaun Halloween Costume
The myth of the leprechaun, dating back centuries in Celtic folklore, has intrigued and inspired many tales told around the campfire. Though the traditional leprechaun has a mischievous, greedy side, the mythology surrounding him does not typically portray him as evil. However, through the popular horror movie "Leprechaun," many people have formed different opinions on the leprechaun, seeing him as more sinister. For this Halloween, come up with your own evil leprechaun look to scare all your friends.

1
Create a green four-leaf clover you can attach to your black top hat by first gathering up a dark green piece of felt. Draw a four-leaf clover about 3 inches in circumference onto the felt. Cut the shape out with a pair of scissors and glue the clover onto the front of a black top hat.

2
Cut a pair of dark green or black trousers so that they fall right below your knees. Create a vertical zig-zag fringe at the resulting bottom hem.

3
Put on your clothing for your costume, including dark green trousers, a black button up shirt, a light green vest and a dark green blazer. Also put on some long knee-high green tights or socks and a dark green bow tie. If you can't find these items in dark green, you can always use black or light green instead.
-
4
Apply your fake fingernails according to the directions on your nail kit. Once applied, add some fake blood on the nails and around your cuticles and smudge some brown and green makeup there as well. Also smudge the brown and green makeup around the creases of your hands.

5
Place your chocolate gold coins in a plastic cauldron so that your "pot o' gold" looks like its brimming over with gold. In addition to the gold, place some bloody fake body parts, such as fake fingers and organs inside the pot.
-
6
Apply a base foundation for your face using the brown makeup to make you look dirty. Then, add the brown makeup to the creases and lines of your face, creating a weather-beaten, old and evil leprechaun face. Smudge some green makeup around your hairline.
-
7
Put in your fake rotting teeth when ready to leave. Apply some fake blood to the corners of your mouth.
