Once only available through TV infomercials, OxiClean promises to quickly blast out tough fabric stains. Though the commercials for this cleaning solution are impressive, the product itself is simple enough to replicate with common household cleaning supplies. You can save money by making your own "OxiClean" and using it on your soiled laundry. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • Spray bottle
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Washing soda
  • Liquid or powder laundry soap
  • Old towel

Instructions

    • 1

      Combine 1 cup hydrogen peroxide and 1 tbsp. washing soda in a spray bottle.

    • 2

      Hand-wash your soiled garment in the laundry soap of your choice. Follow the directions on your laundry soap bottle.

      Lay your garment flat, with the stained side up.

    • 4

      Liberally spray your stain with your homemade OxiClean solution. The bubbles in the hydrogen peroxide will bring the stain to the surface.

      Absorb the stain with a towel.

    • 6

      Rinse and dry your garment.

Tips & Warnings

  • Test the solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the item to make sure the color will not be affected.
