1
Check that the machine's power cord is plugged into a working outlet, the power switch is turned on, and the front and side machine covers are securely closed if the Sharp AR-162 machine is not operating. Press the "Copy" button to put the machine into copy mode if the machine's power is on but it will not copy.

2
Select "Auto" or a more appropriate exposure setting if copies are too light or dark. Select the "Text" exposure setting if copied text is not clear. Place the original document face up in the SPF space or face down on the document glass if copies are blank. Ensure the copy paper is dry and within the specified size and weight range if parts of the copied image disappear in places. Clean the document glass regularly and ensure the original document is clean if copies look dirty. Clean the transfer charge if lines appear on copies.

4
Confirm that you have placed the original document correctly, selected the "Auto%" button, and selected the correct orientation and size settings on the tray's paper size setting if part of the copied image is missing or the copied image is too small.
-
5
Load the machine with paper and remove all completed copies from the paper output tray if copying stops before the copy job is completed.
