1
Go to your local hardware or home improvement store, like Home Depot or Lowes. Ask at their service counter about their air conditioning classes and ductwork specific workshops. The customer service representatives will be more than happy to educate you about their classes and workshop offerings. If you hint that you are considering buying from their store they may even waive whatever nominal fee there is for the class. Ask your friends and neighbors if they have taken these classes and what they thought of them.

2
Contact your local trade schools and ask if they have individual classes on ductwork fitting or if it is possible for you to sit in on a class. Most trade schools offer both individual classes and degree programs. If you are interested in becoming an HVAC technician then it is best to go for an entire degree or certificate program as it will provide the most complete education.

Go to the class early and set out your pencil and notepad. Take copious notes on the lesson and do not be afraid to ask the teacher if you have any questions. You are paying for this so you are entitled to get your money's worth out of the experience. Sketch out the designs and ideas that are illustrated in the class as words do not fully encapsulate what a simple picture can convey. Take down the names of any major brands that the teacher mentions as they too are useful sources of information.

4
Contact the major manufacturers of ductwork fittings and ask about any pamphlets or instructional material they have. If you are a business owner then mention that your company may be interested in a large order. Most companies will be more than happy to provide their materials free to any potential customers but will go the extra mile if they think you will be making a large order.
