How to Attach a Mylar Blanket in a Cat Shelter Box

Keep your cat warm during the winter by placing a mylar blanket in its cat box shelter.

Having a nice, warm, insulated cat shelter during the winter helps protect your cat from the elements outdoors. Create this type of shelter by using a Mylar blanket. With a bit of planning, creating a warm, protecting shelter for your cat can be done in an hour.

Things You'll Need

• Styrofoam
• Yard stick
• Box cutter
• Mylar blanket
• Duct tape

Instructions

1. Using a yardstick, measure a piece of Styrofoam the size of the base of your cat shelter box. Cut it out with a box cutter.

2. Cover the Styrofoam with contact paper so the cat won't scratch it.

3. Wrap the Mylar blanket around the Styrofoam base.

4. Flip over the Styrofoam base and tape the edges of the Mylar blanket to the base with duct tape.
