      Measure the pillow you want to cover with your measuring tape. Write down the dimensions.

      Place the shirt on a flat surface with the buttons running down one side. Measure the shirt to make sure it is big enough. Draw the pillow dimensions onto the shirt with your chalk. Ensure that the buttons are about 10 cm from the top as you use these buttons to get the pillow in and out of the cover.

      Use your scissors to cut the shirt 5 cm outside of the line, so you have ample material to sew. Turn the material inside out and use straight pins around the edges.
