Pinecone Jewelry Instructions
If you have pine trees and pinecones, don't throw the pinecones away. Instead, turn those pinecones into pieces of jewelry. Pinecones come in various sizes, but the best ones to make jewelry from are the smallest ones. These pinecones measure less than a half-inch in length. You can use three pinecones to make a ring and four pinecones to make a necklace. This is a project that even children can do.

Pinecone Ring
-
1
Find two small or three pinecones that are the same size. Try to find the smaller and shorter pinecones for this jewelry idea, because they will work the best.
-
2
Place the pinecones onto the front of the ring base to pick out the pinecones that fit and look the best. Choose a ring base that has a flat, closed platform base. Do not choose one with an open base, because you have to add glue to the base.
-
-
3
Remove the pinecones from the ring base and set aside. Cover the top of the ring base with transparent glue.
-
4
Position the pinecones on the ring base with glue. Hold the pinecones for approximately 5 minutes or until the glue sets up.
-
5
Allow the glue to dry fully according to manufacturer's directions before wearing.
Pinecone Necklace
-
6
Look for a big button, but a shank button will not work. Choose a button with four holes.
-
7
Cut a length of embroidery floss to the length you want your necklace to be. Add 1 to 2 inches to allow for the knot at the end.
-
8
Fold the embroidery floss in half. Push the folded part of the embroidery floss through one of the button holes, so the folded section is in the front of the button. Separate the floss and pass the ends of the embroidery floss between the two strands. Pull up on the string so the knot part is at the top of the button.
-
9
Knot the strands of embroidery floss together, leaving an inch tail on each end of your floss.
-
10
Find 4 small pinecones or as many that you need to cover the top of your button. The pinecones will sit on the button with the bottoms in the center of the button. Place the pinecones on the top to find the ones you like best.
-
11
Remove the pinecones from the button. Cover the front of the button with glue.
-
12
Place the pinecones onto the glue. Hold the pinecones for about 5 minutes or until the glue firms up. Allow to fully dry overnight before wearing.
