How to Catch Mew in "Pokemon Yellow" Version
Mew is a character in the Pokemon series. You can capture Mew without using a cheating device by performing a set of actions inside the "Pokemon Yellow" edition and then including him in your group for training. You must play until you reach Celadon City and receive the"Fly" ability. Once this has happened, you can immediately begin the process of catching Mew.

Begin a new game and play until you receive the Fly ability from a house just west of Celadon City.

Proceed directly to the door to the underground path at Route 8. Do not interact with any trainers. Save your game.

Press the "Down" button and then immediately press "Start." The gambler's menu will appear without any restrictions due to a game glitch. Select and click "Pokemon," followed by "Cerulean City." Wait as the gambler finally sees you. He will interrupt your flight movement and you will no longer be able to press "Start."

Travel northwards until you pass "Nugget Bridge," then turn "East" until you reach the "Youngster."

Walk slowly into the Younger's line of sight. He will engage you and enter combat. You cannot walk to him or the game will lock up.

Head west into route 8, then enter the small path connecting your current region to the route. Mew will immediately attack you at level 7. Throw a Pokeball to capture him.
