My Rosetta Stone 3 is Not Responding

Rosetta Stone is second-language acquisition software. Rosetta Stone can help users learn a new language or improve on a secondary language. As with any computer program, though, Rosetta Stone isn't immune to technical difficulties. Whether your copy of Rosetta Stone 3 freezes during use or it simply won't start, you have several options available for restoring the program to working order.

Instructions

    • 1

Check your Rosetta Stone CD for scratches or grime. Try cleaning the disc, if dirty, and then reinsert it into your CD/DVD-ROM drive. Test the CD in another CD/DVD-ROM drive to determine if the problem is related to the CD or your CD/DVD-ROM drive.

Restart your computer and relaunch the Rosetta Stone software. If Rosetta Stone becomes unresponsive after a reboot, add the program to the your firewall or anti-virus software's exemption list. After selecting the option to add an exemption to your firewall or anti-virus software's, point the program to the Rosetta Stone .EXE file (C:\Program Files\Rosetta Stone\Rosetta Stone Version 3).
