How to Apply Makeup for "Alice in Wonderland" Costumes
The fearless heroine of Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" is a popular costume for both adults and children. While interpretations vary, Alice is recognized by her signature blue dress, white apron, knee socks, mary janes and a hair bow. Put the finishing touch on an Alice costume and prepare to go down the rabbit hole with youthful makeup that suggests wide eyes, rosy cheeks and pink lips. Makeup can be understated for a casual costume or exaggerated for a more cartoonish look.

Instructions

1
Apply foundation to the entire face and neck with a cosmetic sponge to even out skin tone. Finish with a layer of powder to combat shine.
-
2
Sweep a generous portion of rose blush beneath the cheekbones, using a medium-sized brush.
-
-
3
Sweep a neutral shade of eye shadow slightly lighter than skin tone across the eyelid and up to the brow bone. Use a small, round-tipped makeup brush to do this.
-
4
Cover the eyelid with a shade of light blue eye shadow. For a more cartoonish look, extend the blue shadow to just below the brow bone.
-
5
Fill in the crease of the eyelid with a medium brown shade of eye shadow. Dab it onto the corners of the eyes and smooth it out with a finger.
-
6
Sweep a shade of pearlescent white eye shadow just beneath the eyebrows to highlight the eyes.
-
7
Darken and round out eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil to a shade darker than their natural color. Do this if you are aiming for a more exaggerated cartoon look.
-
8
Line the corners of the eyes with a white eyeliner pencil to make the eyes look bigger. Line the upper lid with a thin line of black eyeliner close to the lashes. Finish the eyes with two coats of black mascara.
-
9
Line the lips with a deep reddish-pink lip liner. Fill in with ruby-hued lipstick.
