How to Add Names to Photos

If you want to add a name to a photograph or a notation to remind you of something, you can do so using a program built into the Windows operating system. With Microsoft Paint, a basic image editing program, you can add text over your images. You can add text with either an opaque background (which will make your name stand out more) or a transparent background (where the text will fit into the image more).

Instructions

    • 1

Click "Start," "Programs," "Accessories" and "Paint."

    • 2

Press "Ctrl"and "O." Locate the image you want to edit, select it and click "Open."

    • 3

      Click "Text Tools," then "text."

    • 4

Click and drag a square over the image where you want the text to go. Type the name of the person you wish to add.

    • 5

Click "Transparent" or "Opaque" depending on your preference. Save your image using the "Save" menu.
