How to Airbrush Skull Stencils

Using a skull stencil with an airbrush is a fairly straightforward process.

Using an airbrush freehand can take a lot of time and practice before you achieve the results you want. On the other hand, using stencils to create the shape of your design can greatly help starting airbrush artists. If you have a skull stencil you want to use, the process is fairly simple. All you need is the stencil, your airbrush, and the material you're putting the skull onto.

Things You'll Need

• Skull stencil
• Air brush
• Canvas (paper, T-shirt, etc.)
• Safety glasses
• Breathing mask

Instructions

1. Place your skull stencil onto your canvas. Whether you're airbrushing a piece of paper, an actual artist's canvas or a T-shirt, make sure the air brush paint you're using is acceptable for the material.

2. Put on safety glasses and a breathing mask. Adjust your paint spray so it's as wide or narrow as you need. Spray onto a piece of scrap paper to make sure you have the right spray pattern.

3. Spray the paint over the stencil. The slits in the stencil allow the paint through to create the outline of a skull on your canvas. Once that's done, remove the stencil and freehand airbrush other details you want in or on your skull.
