How to Activate an Alltel BlackBerry on Verizon

BlackBerry phones are used on many networks, including Verizon. They are CDMA phones that can work on any CDMA network with the right frequencies. Verizon's network frequencies are 800MHz and 1900MHz. In 2009, Verizon and Alltel completed a merger that combined the two companies under Verizon. Alltel customers were brought into the Verizon network. As long as your Alltel BlackBerry is compatible with the Verizon network, Verizon can turn it on for you in most cases. You have to call Verizon, as it is done on a case-by-case basis.
