Instructions

    • 1

Spray a shallow baking pan with non-stick spray. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit with the cooking rack positioned in the middle of the oven.

    • 2

Lay the whiting filets in a single layer in the baking dish. Brush the tops with butter or other basting sauce of your choice. Season as desired.

    • 3

Place the baking pan on the oven rack and bake the fish for 10 minutes per 1-inch thickness of the fillets. For instance, if the fillets are one-half inch thick, cook them for 5 minutes.

    • 4

Turn the fish over, using a spatula, halfway through the cooking time. For half-inch fillets, you would turn the fish at the 2 1/2 minute mark. Baste and season the top of the fish.

    • 5

Remove the fish from the oven at the end of the cooking time and serve.

Tips & Warnings

  • Measure fish thickness at the thickest end of the fillet. This is the measurement you use to time the baking process.

  • If the whiting fillets are still frozen, double the cooking time in the oven.
