How to Disable a Gargoyle Alarm

Crimestopper's Gargoyle alarm system protects your vehicle from people tampering with it or stealing it. The alarm, operated by a key fib, is easy to activate and deactivate in a matter of minutes. You can also completely disable the alarm if you lose your key fob.

      Press the disarm button on your key fob to deactivate the alarm. If you lost your key fob, manually unlock the car using the key. This automatically deactivates the alarm.

      Find the black alarm box under the dashboard. The location depends on how the alarm was installed, but it's typically close to the steering column on the right side. Look for the black or red override button on the box.

      Put the key in the ignition and turn the key forward one notch. Your car battery should activate, but the engine shouldn't be running. Immediately, press and hold the override button until you hear the alarm chirp once, indicating that the alarm is disabled.

  • To reactivate the alarm, put the key in the ignition and turn forward one notch. Press the override button once. You'll hear the alarm chirp twice and see the LED light on the dashboard start blinking.
