How to Rig a Mister Twister Top Prop
Bass are notorious for spending time in heavy cover like lily pads. Since this type of cover grows right to the surface of the water, using topwater lures is one of the best ways to generate a bite. Mister Twister Top Props are topwater lures that float and create a commotion on the surface, which often coaxes a bite from a bass lurking below.

1
Spool your rod and reel with heavy line. It should be at least 15-lb. test, since you will be fishing in heavy cover.
-
2
Find the trailer that comes along with the Top Prop. Otherwise, select a double-tailed plastic trailer.
-
-
3
Attach the stinger hook to the main hook, so that the stinger hook hangs off the bend of the lure's main hook.
-
4
Push the straight piece of wire attached to the top of the lure's main hook into the top of the plastic trailer until the top of the trailer is flush with the top of the hook.
-
5
Push the point of the main hook into the plastic trailer. The hook point should pierce the spot where the two tails break off from the body of the trailer. Push the hook point until it is just below the surface of the trailer. That way, it will be weedless, but when a fish bites, the point of the hook will easily go through the plastic and into the mouth of the fish.
