How to Find Fire Stones in "Pokemon Heart Gold"

Some fire-based pokemon in "Pokemon HeartGold" can evolve into a more powerful pokemon through an item called the "Fire Stone." There are several of these stones around, but they aren't rewards for beating a pokemon in battle. Nor do you have to find them like some other game items. A player can only get them by participating in contests or performing other specific in-game tasks.

Instructions

1. Go to the National Park on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays (in real time) to participate in the Bug Catching contest. If you win the contest, you will receive a Fire Stone. To win the big catching contest, you must capture a bug pokemon in the park that is better than the bug pokemon the other trainers catch. Aim for rare bug pokemon (like Butterfree or Scyther) or a bug pokemon with a high level and high amount of HP.

2. Travel to Bill Grandfather's house on Route 25 and show him either a Growlithe or a Vulpix. He will give you a Fire Stone in return.

3. Go to the Poketholon Dome on Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday. The Fire Stone is available for 3,000 Poketholon points.

4. Go to Route 36 on a Wednesday and challenge the trainer, Alan, to a rematch. After this, he will randomly call you on your phone to give you a Fire Stone.
