How to Level in Mining & Blacksmithing

Mining in-game is not so different from mining in real life, it just takes less physical effort.

In the game World of Warcraft, there are many side-quests and optional content that players may elect to partake in. Some of the more rewarding optional contents are the "profession" section of the game. This allows players to choose up to two professions from a short list that they want to learn and specialize in. Among these are the Mining and Blacksmithing professions. These two professions are considered a good match because you can mine materials from the wild and then craft them into armor or weapons to be used or sold. However, you cannot simply pick these two professions and be a master. You first must level them up.

Instructions

Go into the wild of your starting area. When you start a new character, choose professions shortly after you begin your adventure. The game makes it so you have materials that are easy to mine from the start. Mine these materials as often as they spawn. They will usually re-spawn 20 to 30 minutes after you mine them, so mine one deposit of rock and then move on to another one. When the time comes, return to the first deposit and start the cycle over again. This will help you level up your mining skill.

Use the ore you mine to make simple armor and weapons. Do not focus on trying to make excellent weapons right away. Make a few basic items and sell them for a small amount of money. At first, it is not about the crafting but about getting the experience in blacksmithing.

Slowly progress to further, more exotic lands where different ores and minerals are available for mining. You still might not be able to mine some of these ores but you can continue to look until you find one you can. The higher the level of the ore you are mining, the more experience you will receive in mining. In the same way, the higher quality of ore you are using for your armor and weapons, the faster you will gain experience in blacksmithing.
