How to Make Your Own Megatron Costume
The trademark of a successful and impressive transformer costume is one that can transform from the armored car into the robotic beast. By carefully planning the various elements of a Megatron costume, you can create an outfit that reflects both aspects of the Megatron persona. The costume can be easily constructed with many items found in the home.

1
Measure the circumference of your head and trace a circle onto the top of a box large enough to house your shoulder and torso. Cut around the circle, cutting away approximately an extra half inch to give your head plenty of room to pop through.
-
2
Cut away the bottom, side flaps of the box. Cut a wedge out of either side of the front and back flaps, leaving just the middle of the front and back flaps hanging below the box.

3
Put the wearer's head through the hole in the box and mark where the shoulders are on the outside of the box. Remove the box and cut openings for the arms to protrude through.
-
4
Measure the length of the wearer's forearms. Choose a box at least twice as long as the forearms and mark the measurements. Cut a hole where the wearer's elbow hits in the top of the box (this should be at approximately the middle of the box) and another hole in the front of the box. Repeat the process on a second, identical box. When worn, the hands poke through the front holes of the box and the box extends backward past the wearer's elbows.
-
5
Glue the covers on two shoe boxes and line them up with the top sides of the torso boxes. Mark where the arms holes are on the shoe boxes and cut holes on either side to match. Glue the shoe boxes to both sides of the torso box. The shoe boxes will become shoulder armor, adding bulk to the costume. The arms will protrude out of the sides of the torso box and through the shoe boxes.
-
6
Measure the circumference of the wearer's calves and glue the lids on two more shoe boxes. Draw circles slightly larger than the measurements on the front and back panels of the shoe boxes and cut out the circles. The boxes will be worn over the wearer's legs.
-
7
Glue the lid on a round box, approximately 12 inches in diameter. Measure the circumference of a wrapping paper cardboard tube. Cut a hole to match the measurements in the front of the round box. Insert the tube into the box, using duct tape to seal the tube in place. Paint the box and the tube black or silver. Once dry, glue the round box, with the tube pointing up, to the back of the torso box.
-
8
Paint the torso box silver, along with the shoulder shoe boxes. Paint the forearm boxes black, silver and gray to resemble weapons. Paint the sides of the calf boxes with black circles across the middle and with a silver outline to resemble wheels. When the wearer kneels on the ground, the calf sides will be his vehicle wheels, the arms will form guns and the tube on his back a heavy-duty arsenal.

9
Put on black boots, leggings and a winter snow mask that covers the face except for the eyes to complete the ensemble.
