How to Play Shockwave Games on My Computer

Some online browser-based games use the Shockwave player as the platform to provide the games to website users. Most browsers support the Shockwave add-on and will prompt you to install Shockwave when you attempt to play a game that requires the player on your computer. If you do not already have Shockwave installed, you can download it for free from the Adobe website.

Instructions

      Update your Web browser to the newest version. This helps to avoid conflicts between the browser and Shockwave player.

      Go to the Adobe Shockwave Player website.

      Click the "Agree and Install now" button.

      Save the "Shockwave .exe" file to your computer.

      Double-click the EXE file to install the Shockwave Player on your computer.

      Navigate with your Web browser to the online browser game's website.

    • 7

      Install any extra Shockwave components if the game prompts you. Once all of the required components are installed, you will be able to play the Shockwave game on your computer.
