How to Replace an NEC 1830 Monitor Backlight
The backlight in an NEC monitor powers the LCD screen. This backlight connects to an inverter board, which then connects to the power source of the monitor. If the screen on your NEC is dim or dark chances are that the backlight is burned out. If this is the case, open up the monitor and replace it on your own.
