How to Update Global Scan Tool 9620

The 9620 Global Scan Tool is an OBD II diagnostic scanning tool that can be used on any vehicle that uses an OBD II engine computer. The 9620 is pre-programmed to be able to read codes of vehicles that were available when the scan tool was produced. Software updates are available from the manufacturer that provide the scan tool with the necessary resources to work with newer vehicles.

Instructions

    • 1

      Connect the scan tool to an open USB port on the back of the computer.

      Press the power button to turn the 9620 scan tool on.

    • 3

      Click the "Check for Updates" button when the scanning suite software opens.

    • 4

      Click the update you would like to install. Click "Next."

    • 5

      Click "Finish" when the software is done downloading. The tool is then programmed.

    • 6

      Click "Done" on the "programming complete" screen.

    • 7

      Turn the 9620 scan tool off. Disconnect the tool from the computer.
