How to Test Electric Razors thumbnail
You ca test electric razors for comfort on your face.

Electric razors are popular products for men and women who do not shave as often or grow thick hair, as well as for those who get irritated easily from straight blades. You can test your electric razors in a number of ways to determine whether the razor that you are using is the right razor for you and your hair and skin. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Soften your face by taking a shower before you shave or by placing a hot cloth on your face for 2 to minutes before you shave.

    • 2

Dry your face before shaving, but leave it slightly damp. Apply a pre-shave electric lotion before beginning, if desired.

    • 3

Run the razor over the hairs on your face. Be sure to go against the grain and pass over each area on the face only once. This may not be the right razor for you if you cannot get all of the hairs with one pass.

    • 4

Repeat the same shaving process around the neck and the Adam's apple, which is the most difficult part of the head and neck to shave. Pay particular attention to ingrown hairs and irritation; a good razor should not cause either.

    • 5

Use the trimmer around your sideburns or neck line to trim longer hairs. You should be able to cut these hairs evenly with one pass. You should also be able to trim the hairs on your face, without cutting them, with this trimmer. Note if the trimmer leaves an even shave across your face.
