How to Repair the Xbox 360 Flashing Red Ring for Free
The Xbox 360 is a video game console released by Microsoft in 2005. Featuring high-definition graphics, the console has achieved a large worldwide fan base. If you are experiencing a flashing red ring (all four lights that make up the Xbox 360's "ring" are flashing), it signifies there is a problem with the connection between your television and your Xbox. There is a simple and free fix that should mean you will not need to send your Xbox for repair.

Go to Microsoft's website (see Resources) and click on the "Support" tab; this can be found in the top left corner.

Click on "Troubleshoot flashing red lights" tab. Select the "Flashing Red Lights Solution" halfway down the page.

Select the number of flashing red lights your Xbox has. If it is a red ring, then select "four."

Check the A/V cable by turning your console and television off. Pull out the A/V cable from the back of your console. Disconnect the A/V connector from your television set.

Reconnect the A/V cable to your Xbox. Plug the other end of the A/V cable back into your television. Boot up the console and the television. This should fix the flashing red ring.

Tips & Warnings
If unplugging and then plugging back in the A/V cable doesn't work then try using another A/V cable --- the original might be faulty.
