How to Write Music on a Laptop

Writing music on a laptop can be fun for everyone.

Writing music on a laptop can be a fun activity for the entire family. Children love to create their own individual songs. It can also be a great creativity booster. Although you can buy subscription-based software programs to write music, you can obtain a program recommended by Microsoft at no charge. In addition to being fun, the Creating Music software is simple to use.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the Creating Music website.

2. Click on the sharpened pencil icon.

3. Click one of the instrument icons on the left side, then click inside the white composition notepad. The sounds will play as you click the white notepad.

4. Listen to your melody by clicking "Play," located at the bottom of the notepad. If you wish to create a computer-generated composition using your created melody, select one of the compositions from the drop-down menu choices.
