Tutorial for Snap Coin Purses
Creating your own coin snap purse is relatively simple if you have access to a sewing machine and a few bits of spare fabric. To complete this project you only have to sew a few lines---the snap frame for the purse is installed using fabric glue. You can make your purse with any type of fabric, in any color you wish.

1
Create the pattern for your purse by placing the clasp frame on your pattern paper. Draw around the outside of the frame, marking where the hinges stop. Draw a dotted outline around the tracing of the frame. Allow a 1-centimeter seam allowance around the frame. For a triangular purse, the edges of your purse pattern should extend outwards on either side of the frame to meet a straight bottom piece at a 111 degree angle. Cut out the pattern, following the dotted lines.

2
Place the frame in the top corner of the pattern and mark where the hinge opens. Do the same on both sides.

3
Cut the pieces of fabric---two pieces of lining fabric and two pieces of outer fabric.
-
4
Sew the outer bag by putting the two right sides of the outer fabric together and pinning them in place. Sew from the point where the hinge opens along one side, across the bottom and up the other side. Leave the top of the purse open.
-
5
Sew the pieces of lining material the same way you sewed the outer fabric . Leave a 12-centimeter hole in the bottom of the lining bag.
-
6
Flip the exterior bag inside out and put it inside the lining bag, so the two right sides of fabric touch. Sew both flaps of the purse by pinning the lining to the interior bag on each flap. Sew each flap individually.
-
7
Pull the outer bag through the hole in the bottom of the lining and put the lining inside the outer bag. Smooth out any creases or wrinkles in the fabric pouch. Sew the hole in the bottom of the lining closed.
-
8
Apply glue to the side channels of your purse frame. Apply a liberal amount, starting at one hinge and working across to the other hinge. Apply glue to the edge of the fabric of the purse that will be inserted into the frame.
-
9
Use a sharp object like a pair of scissors to press the edges of the purse flaps into the frame. Insert the sides of each flap first, then insert the tops. Allow the purse to dry.
