How to Use the Spigot on My Sun Tea Jar
Fresh brewed tea is refreshing and delicious, and when the sun is out you can make it each day by simply placing a plastic or glass jar with spigot onto the patio and allowing the tea to brew naturally. Though not all sun tea containers have a spigot, those that do are easy to use. A spigot allows you to quickly and easily pour the sun tea into a glass for enjoyment. It will strain the tea as it drains, so if you have fresh-cut fruit or ice in the brewed tea, a spigot ensures you get the cold flavor without the additions. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Fill a sun tea jar with cold water. Many containers allow at least 8 cups of water. Place 6 to 8 tea bags into the water and secure the lid.
-
2
Place the tea jar outside and place in a sunny area for two to three hours for a mild tea or four hours for a stronger flavor.
-
-
3
Take the tea jar inside and remove the tea bags. Add fresh slices of lemon or ice cubes to flavor and cool the drink. You may add other fruits to your liking for different flavors.
-
4
Press the lever down on the spigot to release the tea. The spigot will prevent the lemons or ice from getting into your drink. Once your glass is full to the desired level, release the level to stop the flow of tea. Wipe away any drips from the spigot opening before placing the jar into the refrigerator after use.
