As of 2011, the average cost per night for a three-star hotel in Paris was $225. Factor in the cost of transportation, meals, entertainment and sightseeing, and you are looking at an expensive European vacation. However, with a little leg work you can find reasonably priced, centrally located hostels in Paris. By cutting your lodging costs in half, you may feel OK about purchasing that second bottle of Bordeaux.
