How to Make a Homemade Cad Bane Costume

Dress up as Cad Bane, the bounty hunter from the "Star Wars Clone Wars" television series. The most distinct feature of Bane's is the two hoses attached to his face. According to his biography on the official Star Wars website, he uses the hoses for breathing. The hoses make this costume difficult to construct. It may require a couple of tries to get it right. His other identifying features are his blue skin and hat.

Things You'll Need

  • Silver spray paint

Instructions

    • 1

Spray paint the tubes silver. Spray paint the mask blue.

    • 2

Put the mask and tan shirt on the person who will wear the costume. Hold the end of one hose flat against the cheek of one side of the mask. The top of the hose should end 1 inch under the bottom of the eye. Mark where the bottom of the mask meets the hose with a marker. Hold the other end of the hose to the back of the tan shirt. Mark where the hose meets the top of the back, just behind the shoulders. Cut off any extra hose. Repeat on the other side with the other hose.

    • 3

Locate the line you drew on the hoses. Cut along the black line, and then cut two vertical lines from either end of the horizontal line all the way to the tube opening to make a square cut-out. Remove the square plastic piece. Repeat with the other hose.

    • 4

Apply the hook side of the Velcro to the mask, one inch under the eye. Repeat on the other side. Attach a fuzzy piece of Velcro to the inside of the tube you cut the hole from in Step 3. Place the Velcro on the longer side of the hole. The cut ends will later attach to the mask when you put on the costume.

    • 5

Sew a 2-inch strip of fuzzy Velcro behind the shoulders where you made the mark. Sew a piece on the other mark on the other shoulder.

    • 6

Apply Super Glue to the back of a fuzzy piece of Velcro. Press it to the outside of the uncut edge of the tube so it attaches to the hook piece of Velcro. Repeat with the other side. These ends will attach to the shirt when it's time to put on the costume.

    • 7

Slip the gun holsters onto the belt. One holster will sit on each hip. Put on the black pants and black boots. Put on the belt. Slip the toy blasters into the holsters. Put on the brown jacket.

    • 8

Put on the mask. Connect the hoses to the Velcro behind your shoulders, and then to the face. Put the hat on.
