1
Sort your laundry by lightness. Place all bold or bright colors in one pile; and all light, or white fabrics in another. Avoid washing black, brown or navy with lighter colors. These dark shades can cause dulling or discoloration to your white clothing and sheets.
-
2
Put your load into the washer. Push all the clothing well past the door, to avoid having sleeves or drawstrings stuck inside the rim.
-
-
3
Remove the cap from your Tide cup and measure the detergent, using the marks inside the cap as a guide. Open the detergent drawer or washer lid and pour the liquid from your cap.
-
4
Set the wash cycle to regular, delicate or heavy wash, depending on the soil-level of your garments. Begin the wash cycle by pulling the dial outward, or pressing the "Start" button on high-efficiency machines.
-
5
Move your wet clothing from the washer to the dryer. Set the dryer to delicate, fluff, or permanent press, as appropriate. You may also set the dryer on a timed cycle.

Tips & Warnings
Coordinate your scents. For example, if you use Tide Spring Mountain detergent, use the same scent of dryer sheets or fabric softener. You'll keep your clothing smelling like a mountain spring instead of a mish-mash of artificial scents.
