Ice freezes Laffy Taffy.

Laffy Taffy is a sweet candy with a gum-like substance that hardens when cooled. When moistened with saliva or water, and chewed, Laffy Taffy becomes sticky, making it easier to adhere to fibers such as hair. The quick method to removing Laffy Taffy out of hair is to use scissors. But if you want to keep your hair intact and prevent a bad hair cut from occurring, remove the Laffy Taffy with items from home and keep those scissors stored away.

Instructions

  1. Ice Cube Method

    • 1

Remove two ice cubes from an ice tray and place them inside a sandwich bag. Seal the bag at the top to prevent the ice from falling out. Cover the sandwich bag with a hand towel.

    • 2

Set the bag of ice over the hair where the Laffy Taffy is stuck for 20 minutes. Applying the ice will permit the Laffy Taffy candy to harden and become brittle.

    • 3

Break the pieces of Laffy Taffy apart with your hands, then remove the pieces of Laffy Taffy off the hair.

    Peanut Butter Method

    • 4

Add 1 teaspoon of peanut butter where the Laffy Taffy has mixed with the hair. Leave the peanut butter in for 15 minutes.

    • 5

Work the peanut butter into the hair and Laffy Taffy with your fingers, until the Laffy Taffy begins to loosen. The peanut butter will moisten the Laffy Taffy and make it slippery.

    • 6

Gently comb the Laffy Taffy out of the hair with a large toothed comb. Remove remaining pieces with your fingers.

    • 7

Wash hair with shampoo and water twice to remove the peanut butter.
