Adjust the sound settings on your computer system to make sure it plays audio correctly.

Many of the Microsoft search engines (such as Bing or MSN) have a sound board option, which plays back audio clips from a searched topic, such as a Darth Vader quote or Jaws theme music. Regardless of what you are searching, if the sound is not playing on your computer, you need to adjust some of the system settings, ranging from audio playback to Internet application updates.

Instructions

    • 1

Double-click the sound icon in the lower-right corner of the desktop screen. Uncheck the mute option.

    • 2

Navigate to the Java.com website and download the latest version of Java. Repeat the same task with Flash, located on the Adobe.com website.

    • 3

Play back the audio. The audio file should now play correctly on the Microsoft Sound Board.

    • 4

If audio is not playing back, update the sound card drivers. Navigate to your computer's manufacturing website, then choose "Support" and select the make and model of the computer. Select the download link for your sound card and wait for the file to download onto the computer. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the prompts of the installation wizard that loads onto the screen.
