Instructions

    • 1

Place the dress on a padded hanger. Don't allow the wedding dress to rest on a metal or plastic hanger, which could put creases or lines in the straps and/or arms of the gown.

    • 2

Cover the dress with a garment bag, plastic or (in a pinch) a sheet.

    • 3

Allow the dress to hang, undisturbed, for approximately one week. In many cases, the wrinkles fall out naturally while the dress is hanging.

    • 4

Cover your bathroom floor with dry, clean towels and close the door.

    • 5

Turn on the shower to run hot water, and allow the room to fill with steam before turning the water off again.

    • 6

Hang the dress on the back of the bathroom door.

    • 7

Wrap a dry white towel around your lower arm.

    • 8

Smooth out wrinkles with the towel around your arm, running it gently down the fabric.

    • 9

Recover the dress and remove it from the bathroom.
