Pet Reflexology Instructions

Pet Reflexology Instructions thumbnail
Restore balance and function to your pet with reflexology.

Pet reflexology is a holistic approach used to help a pet restore balance and function. It is a wellness technique that combines acupressure and massage applied to the paws, legs and ears. It helps pets that have arthritis, digestive problems and behavior issues such as fear and aggression. Gentle pressure combined with massage on the paw aids in circulation, normalizes metabolism and supports and enhances other therapies.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold your pet's foot lightly for one to two minutes a day. Continue to do this every day until your pet is comfortable with being touched. This builds up trust between you and your pet.

    • 2

Provide a comfortable place for you and your pet before beginning reflexology. Consider your pet's bed or your lap. You want a quiet area, free of distraction.

    • 3

Apply light pressure with your finger or thumb to the bottom of the paw. Work over each pad of the pet's paw. Do this for each paw.

    • 4

Massage between the pads with your finger or thumb. Move slowly and gently until all paws have been massaged. If your pet is comfortable, lightly massage the ankles and legs.
