Instructions

    • 1

Stand on a properly calibrated scale to determine your current weight.

    • 2

Attain the weight bar. Stand on the scale holding the weight bar. Determine your current weight holding the bar.

    • 3

Subtract the weight determined without holding the weight bar from the weight determined while holding the weight bar. The difference between the two weights is the weight of the bar.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure the scale is calibrated to calculate proper weight.

  • Always use the collars at the end of a weight bar to ensure safe lifting.

  • If the bar weight is different than the last bar used, be sure to adjust the weight added to the bar appropriately. It is recommended that weight not be increased by more then 10 percent.

  • Always warm up before beginning any weight-lifting routine.

  • Consult your doctor before beginning or modifying any exercise routine.
