How to Get Mewtwo in "Pokemon SoulSilver"
"Pokémon SoulSilver" is a Nintendo DS update of the popular "Pokémon Silver" Gameboy Color game. Players that defeat all the gym leaders in the game and acquire all the gym badges as proof can try to capture one of the most powerful Pokémon in the game, Mewtwo. This psychic type Pokémon is located in the depths of the Cerulean Caves and makes a formidable addition to any team. To capture it requires a strong team of Pokémon.

Play the game until you have defeated all gym leaders in both the Johto and Kanto regions. This will give you a total of 16 gym badges. Your Pokémon should be at a fairly high level after this, but Mewtwo is at level 70, so do some more levelling up if you require it. Pokémon at Mewtwo's level or higher will have the best chance.

Go to any Pokémart and stock up on "Repels," as there are plenty of wild Pokémon in the caves and it can become tedious to repeatedly fight them. About 10 to 15 "Repels" will be enough to get you through the cave. Get one or two "Master Balls" as well, with which to capture Mewtwo.

Select the Pokémon that you have taught the "Surf" and "Flash" techniques to for your party, as these two skills are essential in getting to Mewtwo. Travel to Cerulean City and exit via the Route 24 bridge. Immediately after getting off the bridge, turn left and go down the steps. Use the "Surf" technique to get into the water, and then travel all the way down and to the left until you see a cave entrance.

Enter the cave and use the "Flash" technique to illuminate the cave. Open your character's backpack and use one of the repels to stop wild Pokémon from interrupting you as you make your way through the cave.

Use the surf technique on the water directly in front of you and follow the stream all the way up and to the left. When you get back on dry land ignore both the ladders along the route and travel to the right along the path. Keep using "Repel" as soon as it wears off; otherwise you will be attacked.

Ignore the next ladder and turn left, folllowing the path until it goes up some stairs. Climb the ladder at the top to get to the next level.

Make your way through the maze, keeping to the left until you get to a split in the path, where you should go down. At the next set of ladders go down and follow the path until you get to Mewtwo.

Save your game before pressing the "Action" button to attack Mewtwo. Keep attacking Mewtwo with your Pokémon until its health drops into the red. Don't attack it after this or it will faint and you will lose your chance to capture it. Instead throw a "Master Ball" at Mewtwo to capture it.

Use the ladder that was behind Mewtwo to leave the cave once you have caught it.
