How to Cook a Good Steak Without a Grill
Many steak houses and enthusiasts prefer steak cooked on the open flames of a grill. When a grill is not available, however, you can use your oven to mimic the taste received when cooking meat with fire. All you need to cook a good steak without a grill are a few cooking supplies and some simple seasonings. Does this Spark an idea?

Preheat an oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. At the same time, place a skillet on the stove top and preheat at a medium temperature.

Place the steak on a clean countertop and rub 2 tbsp. of pepper and 1 tbsp. of salt into the meat. Coat both sides generously, using more salt and pepper if needed. Add any other personally preferred steak seasoning to the meat at this time.

Place the steak onto the preheated skillet and seer each side for 30 seconds, using a pair of long-handled metal tongs to flip the meat safely.

Remove the meat from the skillet and place it into an ungreased pan. Bake in the oven for 7 to 14 minutes. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the cut of steak. Take the pan out of the oven and cut into the center with a sharp knife to gauge how well the meat is cooked.

Serve immediately after removing from the oven. If juices remain in the pan, pour them over the steak as a sauce.

Tips & Warnings
If you have one available, use a ribbed, cast-iron griddle pan to mimic the flavor and appearance of a grill-cooked steak.
