How to Bid on Hotel Prices
Priceline.com is a commercial travel website that allows you to bid on hotel prices. Priceline's Name Your Own Hotel Price feature offers you the ability to bid on hotel rooms using specific criteria that includes the star rating and neighborhood where the hotel is located. This feature does not allow you to bid on a specific hotel. If Priceline accepts your bid, your hotel room is automatically booked and Priceline will display specific details about your reservation.

Open a web browser on your computer and go to the Priceline.com website.

Click the "Bid Now" button for hotels located in the "Name Your Own Price" subsection.

Enter the city in which you want to bid on a hotel and your desired check-in and check-out dates. Click the green "Bid Now" button.

Select the neighborhood(s) of the city in which you would like to stay. You can select a single neighborhood or multiple neighborhoods.

Select the minimum start level for the hotel that you will accept.

Enter the price you want to pay for your hotel room. The median retail price for a hotel room that meets your search criteria is displayed to the right of the "Name Your Own Price" text box.

Enter the reservation name and press the green "Next" button.

Confirm the details of your reservation bid. It is important that you verify the information. If Priceline accepts your bid, your reservation is instantly booked. Priceline does not allow any changes or cancellations to your hotel reservation booked using the Name Your Own Price feature.

Enter your initials confirming you accept Priceline's terms and conditions and click the yellow "Next" button.

Enter your billing information and click the yellow "Buy My Hotel Room Now" button. If Priceline accepts your bid, you will receive instant confirmation with the details of your reservation. If Priceline does not accept your bid, you are normally given the opportunity to resubmit your bid using different criteria.
