      Park your Ford Escort on level ground.

      Open the hood and disconnect the battery.

      Open the passenger door.

      Remove the screws from the heater fan housing with a screwdriver, counterclockwise to loosen, and remove the heater fan housing away from underneath the glove compartment. The screws also hold the heater motor in place.

      Pry a screwdriver at the clips on the heater cover and pull off the clips to loosen the heater cover.

      Slide off the heater cover away from your Escort.

    • 7

      Clasp and disconnect the resistor cable and clasp and remove the heater motor away from your Escort.
