Gamers who enjoy basketball games had been familiar with similar game mechanics for years until the release of "NBA 2K7" for PlayStation 3. Basketball games typically consisted of pressing and releasing a button to shoot the ball. Using the capabilities of the PS3, "NBA 2K7" allows users to shoot the basketball in a new, interactive way. Hold the controller so it is horizontal and not tilted to the left or right. Use one hand or two hands to hold the controller, depending on which is more comfortable.

Bend your wrist and the controller back toward you, as if you were preparing to shoot a basketball. The player on screen will begin his free-throw attempt.

Push your wrist and the controller forward, as if you were shooting the ball. For best results, begin your movement at the same time the player is about to release the ball. Keep the controller horizontal to shoot straight and not miss to the left or the right.
