Hide Facial Spider Veins

Spider veins are similar to varicose veins; but much smaller and closer to the skin. Spider veins can be found on the back, legs and face. The name "spider vein" comes from their appearance, which resembles a spider web. While unsightly, they are not dangerous to your health. Spider veins are caused by hereditary factors, prolonged sun exposure and injuries. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Choose a foundation makeup that matches your skin color. A thicker foundation will give you better coverage; while a thin, watery foundation is not likely to cover the vein thoroughly. There are foundations available that are meant specifically for covering veins, burns and tattoos.

    • 2

Dip the tip of your foundation brush into the foundation. While you can use a makeup sponge to apply the makeup, the results often look streaky. Roll the foundation bottle between your hands for one minute before use. This will help mix and warm the foundation.

    • 3

Dab the foundation directly on the spider vein. Once applied, use quick brushstrokes to spread the foundation over the vein, and the surrounding area. Continue to add foundation to your face and neck. Apply the rest of your makeup usual.

    • 4

Get a spray tan, or apply a self-tanning lotion to your face. Both a spray tan and self-tanner will temporarily dye your skin, covering the spider vein.

    • 5

Reduce your salt intake, and clean your face regularly, to stave off future spider veins.

Tips & Warnings

  • If spider veins continue to bother you, visit your doctor for saline injections. Saline injections will remove spider veins.
