How to Run Trails in Huber Heights, Ohio
Convenient to the major city of Dayton, Huber Heights, Ohio, is known for family-centered residential areas. The city's Parks and Recreation Department maintains 13 parks. Three of these parks have trails suitable for running. In addition to the city-run parks, Five Rivers Metro Parks based in Dayton maintains two parks that have trails within the borders of Huber Heights.

Choose the trail in Huber Heights that meets your running needs. Shullgate Park has a 1/2-mile trail good for short runs. Belle Plain Park also has a short trail along with a fitness course where you can jog between stations. Rip Rap Park is home to a small network of trails where you can run. Taylorsville MetroPark has over 13 miles of trails through forests, good for cross-country running. The Great Miami River Recreation Trail is paved and ideal for running along its 5.5 miles.

Drive to the location of the Huber Heights trail of your choice. Belle Plain, Rip Rap and Shullgate Parks and Taylorsville MetroPark all have parking lots on-site. To access the Great Miami River Recreation Trail, leave your car at Taylorsville MetroPark, which provides access from the property.

Bring water with you. While all the facilities have accessible water fountains at certain points, you won't find them along the trails while running.
