How to Determine Corset Sizes
Wearing a corset can make you appear thinner and more voluptuous. There is very little that will look bad with a corset if you know what you are doing. The easiest way to make sure you look your absolute best in a corset is to have perfect measurements. You can begin the process at home by taking your own measurements.

1
Stand in front of a full length mirror with a tape measure. Remove your shirt and bra.
-
2
Place the end of the tape measure at your sternum. Wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of your breasts. Pull the tape measure tight enough so there is no slack, but not so tight that it makes an indent on your skin. Record the measurement on a piece of paper as "bust."
-
-
3
Place the end of the tape measure on your sternum. Wrap the tape measure around your upper body, keeping it under your bosom. Record the measurement as the "under-bust."
-
4
Find the thinnest part of your waist, which is normally between your belly button and the bottom of your rib cage. Mark the measurement as "waist."
-
5
Unzip or loosen the top of your pants so they do not cover your hips. Measure around the widest part of your hips. Record this as the "hip" measurement.
-
6
If your waist measurement is 34 inches or less, deduct 4 inches from the measurement. If it is 36 inches or more, deduct 6 inches. If your waist measurement is an odd number, round down to the next even number.
-
7
Locate a size chart at your intended place of purchase. Compare the options of sizes with your own measurements for the most accurate fit.
